After Your African Safari What happens with your trophies? During your hunt, your trophies will be skinned by our well-trained skinning team. Each trophy is carefully salted and tagged with your name until we hand it over with all the necessary documentation to Swift Dip, our dip and pack agent (www.swiftdip.co.za). Swift Dip will chemically treat each trophy, pack them in a crate, and deliver your trophies and necessary documentation to Safari Cargo Systems (www.safaricargo.co.za) for shipping to the U.S. Rules to Follow on Importing Trophies into the United States All hunters must be identified by their full given name, as it appears on their passport on all documents! A copy of the Hunt Register or Hunt Permit is REQUIRED to submit with every entry. Each hunter must have his/her own crate. Pricelist for Dipping and Crating $180 per animal Bleach and Cleaning of Skull, Horns, or Tusks Dipping and Treating of Cape, Back Skin, Flat Skin, or Full Cape All documentation fees and crating fees are included in this cost and will be added to your final account with Wild Wildebeest Lodge. Excluded is shipping to the United States. Swift Dip will notify you via email when your trophies have been collected from Wild Wildebeest Lodge. They will also notify you via email when your trophies have been crated and collected by Safari Cargo Systems. Shipping Once your trophies are ready to be exported, you will then receive an email from Safari Cargo Systems. It is important that you read their emailed information carefully. Included in this email will be your shipping bill as well as directions for payment. To avoid delays or extra charges, it is important that payment for shipment is made in a timely manner. Once that has been done, you will receive another email from Safari Cargo Systems indicating the estimated date of arrival in the U.S. Note that trophy shipments need to be received by a broker/logistics company that is determined based on the taxidermist that you’ll be using. Your trophies must then go to an approved USDA facility (taxidermist or tannery).
